@BRONX+BOMBER Sky have multiple machines acting as DNS. The DNS system acts as a cascade and changes get passed down the system which is why these things usually sort themselves out in a day or so.

Occasionally one of Sky's nodes plays hard to get which is why forcing an IP,address change by piwering down for a few minutes can help. However here given the issue affected non Sky DNS systems as well it  was probably  a config change which will take a while to get sorted.

@BRONX+BOMBER

The nameserver(s) for that domain are now responding correctly, which they weren't yesterday.  As @Chrisee indicates, DNS works as a cascade, so it may take some time for this to propagate down (particularly as that A record has a TTL of twenty four hours).

I can confirm that your site is now accessable using Google's DNS.

Re: DNS Issues?

I agreed to go with Sky Glass from Sky Q which by the way the software used on Sky Q is far easier than having to scroll through a heap of old saves to view the latest episode. FYI ONLY

My main issue is that we keep on having DNS issues 2/3 nights a week lasting for upto 20 mins every time leaving us with no TV no wireless 😢 having to rely solely on mobile data to use phone.

We have the fastest Sky Broadband available from Sky ..this can't continue !! It is ridiculous to be paying every month for a service we are just not getting. What can you do... if we were able to change our DNS on our hub life may be simpler?? But we just have to Sir abs wait with Blue Screen or message saying wait you program is trying to load

Please help !!!!!!

@Maralyn1952 as a Glass customer myself I can understand your issue!

Sky's DNS is delivered by a number of different physical units located around tge country and on occasions one of these can go slow. Where thst happens to me I simply power down my hub for a few minutes and hope when it reboots I have been connected to a different unit which works almost every time. Customers shouldn't have to do that but its a work round until Sky's network techs fix the dodgy machine.

Re: DNS Issues?

HI All,

I seem to be having issues with Google DNS.

Im currently working as home as a 3rd line network Enginner and have my Cisco ISR router using google DNS however it seems as if sky doesnt like you using it on a endpoint? - Ive set devices using the google DNS but if i set them on my router it will work for 4-5 minutes and then fail to load webpages - I can ping the google DNS servers but loading any webpage is a no go. - I set my router to Sky`s DNS instant fix.

The issue i have here is i need to use google DNS servers for AWS work.

Is anybody else experiencing issues?

I have tried to call Sky but they dont understand the issue ( reading from a script )

Thanks

Dan
