DLM Reset
How long after a DLM reset does the line try to slowly step the SNR Down and reduce it hopefully to 3db. If a DLM reset is done the day before does it take a day or two break to monitor the line, before stepping the SNR down or is it more of less instant??

Re: DLM Reset
It still can take 10-14days to get down to 3db after a reset

Re: DLM Reset
@Postings as farcas I know the system monitors the system for a full 24 hour period which starts around 2.30am before starting to adjust parameters. In practice if the line has been reset to around 6dB it can take up to 2 weeks to settle to its minimum which can be near 3dB if the line has very low noise. Openreach often dont reset the system after a repair and although Sky can ask for a reset I dont believe they do so in practice.

Re: DLM Reset
Oh yes thanks, it's slowly working its way down to 3db, it's on 4.3db and speed of 69.4 meg, if it goes to 3db how much more speed will it gain, should be at least 3 more megabytes I would have thought.

Re: DLM Reset
@Postings the noise margin has gonne down to 3dB so the download speed is now at the maximum. Dont be too surprised if the noise margin rises a bit as the line settles.

Re: DLM Reset
Yes, I'm very happy with the speed, I mean I looked at the wholesale checker and it says on a clean line we're only meant to be getting 53.4 so we're getting 20 more than what we should be so no complaints. I reckon it will probably stay to be honest. I've had it in the past 3 decibels and it's probably a very clean line. But I have heard that cross talk and sometimes the more people join the cabinet can chop it down
