DHCP settings White Router -current network has static IP's.
Hi, Im just about to get my SKY 500 installed and will be getting one of these White boxes which , from reading these forums so far, ssem to be completely strangulated in function.
My current setup with my BT Hub has DHCP working in a certain range, with my static devices (NAS, Main PC, WAP) 192.168.1.xxx
I also have the wifi switched off on the Bt HUB and I use a Tenda WIfi Hub for both 5ghz and 2.4ghz on seprate SSID's as I have a lot of IOT devices that can only run 2.4.
Will the White Max be able to cope with this setup (wifi off, hub connected, static addresses) and can I change things like its IP address and DHCP handling?
Also, can I view connected devices on it?
Thanks in advance.

Re: DHCP settings White Router -current network has static IP's.
@GunnyWombat you would be far better swapping the Sky hub for a third party router but there are things you can do.
First point most of the settings on the white Hub6/SR213care controlled in the My Sky app but some settings such as the DHCP range can be set from within the hub's web interface. You can access the web interface at 192.168.0.1 signing in with the username admin and the default wifi password on the label. The hub's gateway address of 192.168.0.1 is different to BT's default so you msy have to change simecsettings on your devices AFAIK that cant be changed. However you can edit the DHCP range in Gateway/Connection/Loocal IP configuration which would seem the simplest way to try to replicate you current set up.
You can disable the WiFi on the Sky hub but the settings is in the app under product settings/Sky Max hub/Advanced Settings/Disable WiFi
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: DHCP settings White Router -current network has static IP's.
Thanks for the response.
Changing the network range is a killer sadly as with so many devices it would take ages, especially the IOT devices that are hard wired statics..
After reading more and more posts it seems that the white box is junk and a third party router is the way to go.
Ive settled on an Asus unit (ax58u V2) that appears to be supported both on this forum and in the Amazon reviews, stating it automatically links with the ONT.
Many thanks.

@GunnyWombat Take it that you have no need for the landline to function, and also get the sky hub working, nothing connected to it apart from an Ethernet device, set it up and working before you park it away!

Thanks, yes, will make sure the line is all working with the supplied router before packing it away in case of emergencies.
Thats correct, no need for a physical landline.
