Constant drops in speed at the same time.

Noticed the internet was being slow on an evening when I came to use the internet around 8pm. I have joined the 500 fibre package on the 28th October and have noticed this ever since, the drop outs go to around 1-12Mb

Spoke to sky with regards to the above which went to their networking team for 72hours diagnosis, to which nothing appeared wrong. Although they did send me a new router (4.2 black) which is the same one I had but at least that is one thing to alleviate.

I have trouble shooted every possible way I know -

1. Connected via Ethernet straight to the hub (still under performing)

2. Carried out their trouble shooting methods aswell as on the phone to them.

3. Cmdt Prmpt ping tested while on a call to skys network team which we both witnessed 13% packet loss over 15 pings.

I had a Qube engineer come out after all this to check it at around 0900, though my speeds are brilliant at this time, though he did say if I was still getting this issue to plug an Ethernet cable straight to the OTP, I did that and was still seeing the same results in the evening.

Carried out a BQM for 2 days, for one of those days no one was in the house. Speaking over text to the open reach engineer and supposedly they will test it tonight, but they are also asking questions if a VPN is used or it might be my hardware which I feel I have ruled out. Unsure what else can be done here so I would appreciate any and all advice or help.

@DisgruntledGrey You still need to switch everything else off to prove it though!

Re: Constant drops in speed at the same time.

Appreciate that, but from me disconnecting the OTP from the router and connecting it straight to my PC does that, my pc was the only thing connected, there are no downloads other than a speed test going on to see what I was getting. Plus there is nothing getting turned on at 6pm so for it to do it everyday at the same time with everything switched off as well as when we left the house is bizarre.

@DisgruntledGrey So what is you BQM running against then, the sky Router or the PC?

Re: Constant drops in speed at the same time.

It's pinging my router to the thinkopenreach server. Pc is turned off.
When I go on my computer in the day it works great, just when it gets to 6pm it turns nasty.

Re: Constant drops in speed at the same time.

@DisgruntledGrey The BQM i threw up was against my Asus router, with over 20 devices connected on the network and all connected mixture off wired/wireless devices, have had a couple off packet losses was running for another OP who was having some EE issues, all my drops are explained as they happened with some OR/Sky late night maintenance so apart from that no hangup's at all, same using a FF500 Fibre connection! Have seen think only twice speed fold back when the network got real busy, and my Asus drop back from a 160Mhz to a 40Mhz Wi-Fi backhaul that is normally DFS issue, but after reset all and back up no problems, that was a couple day's ok.

Not got my old SR203 connected, but did have it on the other day and it FW updated to version .205 just did not keep it on the wan.
