Chromecast stopped connecting two weeks ago
Hi, I’m having a strange Wi-Fi issue with my Sky Max Hub (SR213-02-UK-wht) and a Chromecast with Google TV 4K.
The Chromecast can see my Sky Wi-Fi network, but it cannot connect. When I select the SSID it sits on “Connecting to SSID” for around 30 seconds and then fails with “Couldn’t find SSID”. Interestingly, even entering an incorrect Wi-Fi password produces the same behaviour, so it doesn’t appear to be getting as far as a normal password/authentication failure.
The Chromecast itself seems fine as it has connected successfully to an iPhone hotspot, and it can see other nearby Wi-Fi networks. Other devices in the house connect to the Sky network normally.
Things I have already tried:
Factory reset the Chromecast
Restarted the Sky Hub and Chromecast multiple times
Changed Wi-Fi security from WPA3-Personal Transition to WPA2-PSK (AES)
Tested with 2.4 GHz only, 5 GHz only, and both bands enabled
Confirmed the Chromecast fails on all combinations
Current Sky Hub settings:
2.4 GHz:
802.11 g/n/ax
WPA2-PSK (AES)
Channel 1
20 MHz bandwidth
5 GHz:
802.11 a/n/ac/ax
WPA2-PSK (AES)
Channel 157
20/40/80 MHz bandwidth
The Sky Hub settings appear quite locked down, so I can’t disable Wi-Fi 6/802.11ax, change channel bandwidth, create separate SSIDs for each band, or change other advanced Wi-Fi options.
I have also noticed some odd behaviour with the Sky Hub generally. The My Sky app and myrouter.io interface have sometimes shown different Wi-Fi band states, and after changing Wi-Fi settings the hub has occasionally needed a reboot before devices reconnect.
Has anyone had similar issues with the SR213-02-UK-wht and Chromecast with Google TV 4K? I’m wondering if this is a Sky Hub firmware/compatibility issue rather than a Chromecast problem.

I have exactly the same issue. Sees network, refuses to connect. Did you find a solution or get a private response? It's our main TV device so getting very frustrating.
