Changing to Sky from BT

I am currently with BT and would like to change to sky if the price is OK I can do the change on line but am worried about cancelling my BT so I don't pay twice,do sky cancel for me so the dates between BT and the new contract with Sky is on the same day ,I hope I make sense.

and also can you send a engineer to set it up for me
