Category of Ethernet cable extension

I need a longer Ethernet cable but so many to choose from. Just had fibre installed and want to move router

@chrisnsol  Cat 5 or above will do, make nsure it's fully wired for gigabit speeds

As @GD1 indicates, Cat5e is fine, and preferably pure copper rather than CCA (copper-clad aluminium) : the price difference is negligible for shorter lengths.   RJ45 (ethernet) plugs at both ends.

 

(Actually, CCA shouldn't be rated as Cat5e at all, but some resellers are less than scrupulous)
