I have a careline 365 emergency call button which works through the landline. My son who is with BT has been notified that his service is going digital in the next 30 days and if he had a call button it would stop working. My son called careline this morning and they said we have to wait for information from yourselves before any update to their system. Please advise.
Sheila Booth.

Sky isn't currently making any proactive changes to customer broadband provision (although that will have to happen eventually). Where an existing subscriber chooses to go down a path involving an upgrade to FTTP then one of the steps involves the ISP asking a set of questions about such devices, and the presence of an incompatible alarm would block progress, as is required by Ofcom.

Re: Careline connection
Note that all device manufacturers need to be planning for the inevitable switch off of PSTN (currently scheduled for January 2027) and users need to be aware of it.

Sky has not announced any such plans. BT as an ISP can do as they see fit as long as they comply with Ofcom regulations which specify users of incompatible devices must not be migrated to a digital voice service.
