Cannot link to router via WiFi

I am trying to connect a friends windows XP pc to his sky router via a wireless dongle.  The on screen message confirms the connections has been made (6 green vertical bars) but keeps asking to 'verify identity' with a 'connection ?'  How do I get the sky router to accept this PC?

Most likely you don't.

Windows XP only supported WPA2 if the device manufacturer provided it and it's highly unlikely your "wireless dongle" does. Bear in mind that when WindowsXP was released it didn't support ANY wireless connectivity at all.

Time to bin the machine (way past time TBH), or accept it's only ever going to connect via a wired connection.
