Cancellation of TV and Broadband

I am currently subscribed to Sky TV and have been since September, however Sky have failed to install Broadband at my property for four months. Orders have been repeatedly cancelled and I have lost patience now over the delays with no explanation. I originally took sky TV on the basis of a total package price to include Sky TV and a Broadband/Talk Anytime deal.  This was made clear to the Sky representative I spoke to at the time.
I now wish to cancel the TV subscription and go elsewhere as the failure by Sky to provide the Broadband/Talk part of the package is unacceptable. I feel that I have been misled by Sky and I have absolutely no confidence in Sky's ability to resolve the situation.

Re: Cancellation of TV and Broadband

Success!! After insisting that my agreement to take Sky TV was dependent on Sky also providing broadband and a landline talk anytime package,Sky have at last agreed to cancel my tv subscription and so I am finally able to source a complete TV/Broadband and Talk deal elsewhere without the constant repeated delays and cancellations that I have had to endure for the last 4 months.
It has taken countless calls to overseas call centres and a considerable amount of my time but at last I'm going to be free of the frustration that seems to revolve around getting full fibre broadband installed in my area.

@Jollygreen1  I, for one, would be interested to know how you get on sourcing FTTP from an alternative provider, as Openreach will still be responsible for running the cable to your property.

You may find you're being optimistic if you assume all the issues are behind you.

@Anonymous  There are Altnets availble who have their own network an example Virgin Media, CityFibre, Community Fibre etc so quite possible they have gone to one of these.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Cancellation of TV and Broadband

To be honest I'm not that bothered about FTTB at the moment, I've been using a 5G mobile broadband as a standby for the last 4months and for my purposes it has proved remarkably successful. FTTB is being promoted as the only option by Sky if you want their broadband and talk service. What has been so frustrating for me is the lack of clarity over the delays with no clear explanation. Basically over promise and very much under deliver. In addition to which I then find reluctance by Sky to stick to the agreed price from my initial order. I just feel I should not have to waste any more of my time on this issue.

Where there's FTTP in the area, Openreach ISPs typically cannot place an order for wholesale FTTC (and I'd imagine it's similar in RoI). That's part of the national projects to replace legacy copper with a modern communication network.
