I'm assume you are talking about the router.
Are you subscribed to Sky Broadband? If you are then turning of the router will prevent any of your devices from accessing the internet. If you are using another ISP to provide your broadband and have a router from them ( or your own router_ then you don't need the Sky broadband router.
