Broadband speed test before purchasing

Hello!

I am tempted to switch to Sky Broadband as the price is a lot better then my current provider and the internet speeds looks promising too!

However I want to make sure I can get the speed I pay for.

If I go to a physical store of Sky can they see if Full Fibre is available in my area?

Many thank!

You should get 80Mbps with a guarantee of 60Mbps.  There is no full fibre

Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21

If I get it right mark as answered
If I get it wrong humour me
If I say something you like give a thumbs up

Could you enter your full address in the link below and post the table and notes after removing your address from the image

There's no need to do so.

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

Re: Broadband speed test before purchasing

Damn that sucks,

Been working from home and the internet is terrible.

Downloading games after work is basically an overnight job. Wish Sky had full fibre here.

Thank you tho!

Unless it's CityFibre?

For some reason I can't post the picture but it literally says:

Great news! You can connect to the CityFibre network

In that case Sky can probably  offer their whole range of FTTP speeds plus the new (and completely unnecessary) 2.5Gbs and 5Gbs bands.  Apparently they don't have presence across the entire CityFibre network though.

Re: Broadband speed test before purchasing

I'm glad to hear tbh!

Even if it's a small chance I'm willing to take it. Currently on 70Mbps atm.. I struggle with working from home as I randomly drop connection.

As I'm near one of their stores this weekend I might just pop in and see if they can see the range I can get

Re: Broadband speed test before purchasing

@Shiya You should be able to see all off what you can get on sky.com, your address will say what sky is able to offer you from FTTC only, or FF all the way on a CF connection. If CF is not available to you then FTTC at the 80/20 split would be as you have currently!

Re: Broadband speed test before purchasing

I think it shows every speed that they have available! So I guess I can nearly go ahead with going to 900Mbps

Re: Broadband speed test before purchasing

@Shiya Would say so, procedure would be a OTS operation, sky take care off everything, Fibre install and phone connection landline if needed, switchover, contacting your old provider, you need to do nothing at all, just sit back and hope it all goes smooth! Speed package if you select the 900Mb/s then should be 900/900 symmetrical and that is a CF only option for sure think it will show that in the speed if you click on it!👍
