Broadband so slow

Hi,

Been having issues for a while. Had an engineer out, changed phoneline box to a bigger one and said there was a fault on the line. Openreach came out and did some work. Replaced the box on the outside of house as was not secure and wiring was loose.

All now apparently sorted however still having issues of broadband/wifi being really slow.

I have a black router and these are my stats.

Thanks.

Re: Broadband so slow

Still having real issues with pages loading. Been using 4g most of the evening. Went on Sky app earlier and the test wouldn't even load!? Says everything is 'looking good' tonight though-clearly it's not.

Highly frustrating.

Re: Broadband so slow

Your router stats look good, although it looks like the router lost connection or was rebooted or turned off and back on shortly before you posted your stats.

Sounds like the WiFi signal isn't reaching your devices. Can you relocate the router to a higher up, more central position in the property?

If not I would look at Sky Boost (or whatever it's called these days) to provide a signal across more of your property.

Either that (which is a monthly subscription addon) or a third party WiFi extender.

Re: Broadband so slow

Thanks.

I didn't reboot my router so that must have been a lost connection?

The engineer has put it in the place it is now (only real place it can go). I have boost and a Wi-Fi extender from Sky at the top of my stairs.

Have plugged Ethernet cable into extender to PS so I know that's not using the Wi-Fi.

Really starting to get annoying now. Read about Sky Max but not convinced that would improve matters.

Re: Broadband so slow

I'm not sure that Sky Max would. Might be worth calling Sky and seeing what options you have.

Failing that, I would look at ethernet cable from router to device as first option.

If this isn't possible, homeplugs are likely the second best option to get your signal around the property more robustly than relying on WiFi.
