Broadband not connected on date provided
Hi,
My Sky broadband was meant to be connected on 7th August. It has not been connected due to an error of some kind. I'm now being told that the next update will be on 14th August — not even a confirmed connection date, just an update.
I work from home and it is the summer holidays, so I have two kids at home. Sky are leaving me without internet for at least a week! I'm being told that, in 2026, this is the process and I just have to suck it up and wait.
Is this REALLY how Sky treat their customers these days? If I'd known this upfront, I would not have returned.
Is it possible that someone could please look into this and offer a solution that doesn't involve telling a customer to wait a week, in 2026, with no internet?
Or will you confirm on this forum, for all to see, that this is your "process" and customer service strategy?
No reply will tell everyone everything they need to know.
Before someone says it, this was not done via the one touch process.

You could look at cellular data: the daily rate compensation for delayed activation should more than cover its cost.
It's unlikely that Sky has any solution.

Just providing an update for anyone who might google this issue. It's approaching 3 weeks and I still have no internet. And Sky still have no material update for me. Just that's It's being looked into.
Avoid Sky if you actually want to receive an internet service.

Re: Broadband not connected on date provided
@Logxma4 Most customers are connected on the date specified, however there will be cases where this is delayed due to the network provider coming across an issue, another ISP would have the same issue, telling other customers to avoid Sky becuase you have an issue won't get the issue resolved.
Also you are aware that most people posting here are already customers?

Re: Broadband not connected on date provided
You sound suspiciously like... Sky.
And are you aware that you don't need to be a Sky customer to read this? It will show when people google a topic like this.
The customer service from Sky has been an absolute disgrace. Never experienced anything like it. People have a right to know Sky won't do anything meaningful to help. They just blame Openreach. Again, never come across a company whose customer service strategy is to just constantly blame another company while they say there's nothing they can do. Despite sending you bills for services they are not providing.
