Broadband drops out several times a day

I have been having issues with my wi-fi for a while now: several times a day it drops out and the middle light on my router goes off, it soon comes back as orange and usually goes back to green within a couple of minutes. This is very inconvenient as I work from home an get booted off video calls. Additionally, my daughters both have Sky mobile and keep using up all of their data as they switch automatically to mobile data when the wi-fi drops - you will see that I have to keep rolling over piggy bank data as a result of this.
