Hi,
I'm a new customer to sky.
From the get go, I've had problems with Sky Internet. So a little background, my internet wasn't working whatsoever and I used to sub contract for BT, so I was confident on repairing the box myself, found out none of the pairs was terminated onto the box? Strange. So just to be safe I terminated the white/blue on the test port... that seemed to work fine, so I've left it (as far as I'm aware this shouldn't affect the speed) ... anyways, so I installed a linksys mesh network; nothing fancy, just a router with some nodes to increase productivity. All was working on initial set up but the speeds were averaging 20mbps (the speeds didn't change with my VPN disconnected, nor a wired connection straight into the modem and not the router). Nothing that I could do could change the speeds.
but anyways, lack of connection isn't the end of the world. Maybe there is a some sort of interference because the cable is wrecked (the cable goes into the wall and I have no idea where it goes as I just moved in)... probably crimped or something somewhere? I'll wait till the engineer comes and finds it...
BUT, now the internet stops working at the same time every night, around 0210. I'm a night lurker playing online poker and whatnot, so these are prime times for me. When it does come back online in the morning, I try to plug in my linksys router and for some reason this wipes the internet out completely as well... I literally cannot understand what the reasons would be for this? I spent quite a bit of money on the mesh network as I like top coverage to all my devices, which the hub alone can't achieve...
I feel like this is a problem that only BT can resolve but is there anything that I'm missing that could be a hardware fault with the Sky Hub?
i do not have a Sky Q box by the way. There's no possibility of eco mode.
I'm baffled about this all.

Just for some extra information. When the internet cuts out then I have a solid yellow for voice and nothing for internet.
however, When I mentioned about the time when the hub was working in the day, but killed it with my router then id have no internet as well but when I disconnected the router it would be flashing amber for the internet.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThink you need to call Sky and get an engineer sent out, sounds to me that new cabling needs to be made.
