@Userinamillion area outages are usually within the Openreach or City Fibre networks and will be being worked on by their engineers not by Sky themselves. Usually there is no way of getting more than a guess to how long it will take to be resolved. Someting over 85% are sorted within 2 full working days (which excludes weekends if the issue only affects domestic lines) it all depnds on the cause which can often be damage like a car hitting a pole or a digger driver damaging a buried cable.

You will start to accrue compensation if the repair takes longer as explained here Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com That you use your connection for work gives you no priority which is the disadvantage of relying on a domestic line for work. It is sensible to have a fall back plan

@Userinamillion

The first thing to check is this link to see if there are any outages in your area, it can be a bit slow at picking up issues so if nothing shows perhaps try it again later:
https://www.sky.com/servicechecker

If nothing shows then try this line test:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.
