Broadband Cable doesn’t fit Open Reach

We have been waiting for our broadband hub for ages and had to escalate this on here. It's now been delivered and we cannot set up the hub. We had an engineer come out to set things up WAY before our hub arrived but it now seems that the white end of the black broadband cable does not fit into our open reach terminal so we are still without broadband.
Can anyone help with this please?

If that's FTTC broadband then possibly you'll need to source a plug-in microfilter to convert a standard BT Jack socket to RJ11 for data and phone jack for voice: Sky don't supply these with Hubs anymore, as the world is full of them.

However, if that's FTTP with an actual Optical Network Terminal then you need an ethernet cable (Cat5e is fine)
