Billing over charge

Why as I'm on sky broadband boost 35 am I being charge for sky boost?

I think you are confusing two different product names.

 

'Sky Superfast 35' is 'up to' 40Mbs broadband (typically FTTC but also available over FTTP)

 

'Sky Broadband Boost' is a subscription supplement bringing some additional features.

 

Sky try to upsell Broadband Boost as an add-on to all their internet products: if the user is on a social tariff then this upselling may not be appropriate and should be challenged.

what add ons does that bring then, because i cannot remember asking for anything when my subscription was changed

As listed in the link above: primarily a 'better' Hub model (unless this was already allocated for either FTTP, G.fast or Sky Talk using VOIP)

Sky has an unfortunate habit of opting users into Boost without checking it's actually beneficial.

 

Boost used to include the additional parental controls of 'Broadband Buddy' but this is no longer an active product.
