Becoming a joke now
Two weeks ago my "Super fast guaranteed" fibre was off for 6 days. (Fibre box flashing OTC)
basically told to sit and wait for it to be fixed, apologies you can't use sky glass or any other services.
then last night about midnight, the whole thing goes off again, comes back on about 6am, then goes off again at 9:15am.
what a mess, beginning to regret "upgrading" to fibre.
please don't tell me to reset router? Or try the service checker as I've been living on that page for what seems like an age.

Perhaps worth noting that no individual domestic ISP actually guarantees uninterrupted connectivity: that would require duplicate circuits arriving at each address from different locations and is mostly impossible on the national network (it can be approximated if there's an altnet ISP available in addition to an Openreach carrier)
The 'guarantees' are of small refunds if defined targets aren't met.
Where resilience is important it's worth considering a provider which offers automated failover to cellular data, or looking at broadband by LEO satellite.

Re: Becoming a joke now
@kellycarswell if the issue is with Openreach or City Fibre, unfortunately your fault will only be fixed at the speed their engineers can resolve the issue.
As suggested by @TimmyBGood I currently have 2 connections, with the slower Openreach provider acting as a failover, but it is not cheap and not sure I'll keep this indefinitely.
Now TV Sports + Entertainment + Cinema + Ultra Boost @ £33 pm
2 x FTTP lines: Digi £15 pm 900/900 & Aquiss £36pm 80/20
Connected in dual WAN to 3 x Asus XT9 mesh & 2 x Asus RT-AC58U
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
6 other streaming TVs

Re: Becoming a joke now
From Skys service checker.....which nearly an hour later tells me there's no issue with my connection....
If your speed drops below your Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed for 3 days in a row, you can change your broadband package with no upfront cost. Or cancel your broadband contract early with no charges.
It’s our speed guarantee
What's my Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed? It's the speed we told you when you got your broadband."
I count 4 guarantee / guaranteed statements in there.
to be more accurate it should say "we guarantee the speed advertised (until we can't guarantee it because someone has cut through a wire / or it gets a bit hot / and we have zero power at all to fix this issue, we can't give you an ETA....so your expensive tv we sold you now just becomes a fancy paperweight)"
don't think that will sell Many fibre packages that.

Ofcom and the ASA permit ISPs to use the word in specific contexts. Actual broadband delivery cannot be guaranteed because, as you indicate, it relies on infrastructure which is inherently vulnerable and has multiple single points of failure.
Personally I wish they'd be clearer that the 'guarantee' is for either refund, compensation under the Ofcom scheme or early contract exit if a specified service isn't deliverable, and not broadband connectivity itself.
