B/B Speed since issue.
Good morning, this week had Openreach out to sort the line issue down my street, as I was only getting 11 mbps DL speed for well over a month.
Chap rectified the fault, which was the lightning conductor module on the pole. Someone else had been up the pole and partially disconnected a few cable pairs.
The main issue now is that prior to the issue, I was getting around 79 mbps, but a week after the fault was fixed, I'm only now getting between 59 and 63. The sky checker says that there is an issue, but as the router is getting above the minimum 59 speed guarantee, It won't allow for an engineer to sort the line issue that there seems to be.
Any ideas... Also i know i can leave sky due to the 3 days and over bellow guarantee speed, but how long ave i got to decide. Nay ideas.
Many thanks
Daz

Re: B/B Speed since issue.
@Daz1212 You need to look at what can be done for the time to leave side yourself have never done that, the line is now repaired and error's and faults do happen, but if the OR Engineer did not do a DLM reset then the manager will be working out were to set your line at, so takes around the 10days of testing, stability over speed, but if you did hit the 79Mb/s speeds before then it will be heading that way, you must be a short distance from your Green street cabinet box, you probably see it easilly when on the full 80/20 split!

Re: B/B Speed since issue.
Hi JimM1
I'm around 120 meters from the green cabinet at the end of the street, and the speed was always knocking on the max available at 80mbps at 79, so the drop to 64-ish is a little concerning when all was at fault was the lightening dodah up the pole.
Will give it a good 10 days, but I remember the engineer saying that it was testing at 75 at the router before he left. Both Openreach and ADSL Speed test say the same speed, which is lower than the Sky speed.
Many thanks for the words of wisdom.....

Re: B/B Speed since issue.
Hi
Yes, done that. 15th Nov was 13.4, today it's saying 64.2, but other speed tests are saying mid 50s.
Will monitor..
Many thanks

Re: B/B Speed since issue.
@Daz1212 Whole object is to keep the sky Hub online and connected with MINIMAL disconnect's on the Line anytime, the DLM tries it's best to manage the line, but it will always sacrifice speed to keep stability at it's best! Does seem to be climbing though and heading in the right direction, from the fault ie lowest speed, then if after the repair the jump was not to the max value, good chance the OR Engineer did not do a DLM Reset, sometimes they do and sometimes they do not, all down to the Engineer and his testing may just have said 75Mb/s not going to get any better than that!
