Asus XT8 working with no client identifier!

FTTP: Using Merlin firmware - did a factory reset updated firmware then again factory reset. - I havent yet put the client identifier back in ( option 61 ) and broadband is working fine. Other nodes are electrically unplugged.

Speed is about right

Am I missing something new and real question is it needed will this fallover at some point?

@frankNsteeen most Sky connections will work without a log in string using DHCPv6 PD (prefix delegation)  which most but not all exchanges offer.

The Asus router will work with either or both which is recommended DHCP Option 61 with the credentials or/and DHCPv6 PD. But it doesn't need authenticating every time one connects only once in a 24-hour period.
