Area outage

So we have a massive area outage, cables have been broken by third party contractor. Itsmade the local news as thousands of homes affected. Broadband, tv and phone been off since 02/07 lunch time. I advised sky of this at the time and they said there was no problem in my area and i needed to book an engineer visit. My account has since updated to show sky have acknowledged the outage and i dont need to do anything else. Then i got a text message today saying i need to book another engineer visit. I cant do an online chat as it wont let me, tried calling but they talk rubbish, whats the best way to get an update on what is going on? Its sooooo frustrating

If that's the Maghull outage  then realistically there's little point trying to do so: the repair will take as long as it takes and nothing an individual ISP customer (or a frankly misguided MP) does can affect the outcome.
