Activation date
Hi,
I am thinking of switching to Sky Superfast (no fibreoptic socket needed, uses the phone line) as I still want/need my landline number and I have a working phone socket.
Approximately how long will the activation take?
How long before the end of my current contract should I place the order with Sky, allowing for delivery of the hub and anything needed for activation by Sky? Is there any way to shorten the time between order and activation to be less than 2 weeks?
I want to avoid any early termination charges from my current broadband provider (Plusnet) so is it possible to select an activation date that is 1 day after the end of my Plusnet contract?
Can Sky ensure that there will be no loss of service and the connection will take place on the given activation day.
Thanks for your help. Have a great day!😀

Re: Activation date
@AnnabelleLee You need to check if Full fibre is available at your address, if it is then should you move to Sky (or any other provider who uses the Openreach network)that is what will be provisioned and it could cause delays to the activation if work is needed to lay the cable and install an ONT.
You can find out via this link if full fibre is available https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome and if that would mean any extra work is needed.
If Full fibre isn't availabe then its usually a straight forward switch, there is always a small amount of downtime when the switch happens and thats unavoidable, Sky cannot guarantee there won't be delays(no ISP can) as they are at the mercy of Openreach.
With regards to selecting a day, when you place an order it will give you the first date available and there is a 14 day lead time so you need to factor that in to when you place the order.
