5Ghz Not Working

Hi

We have our 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz broadband split out as two separate SSIDs. For some reason this evening our 5Ghz network has just stopped working - is there any way of seeing why this is? If I try and connect on my phone or another device, I just get a generic "Unable to join xyz", which doesn't help me trying to identify the issue.

I've tried restarting the Hub but that hasn't made a difference at all. I've also logged on to the router but I'm not seeing any pages that will allow me to troubleshoot the issue. The syslogs just cover the router starting back up and I can't see anything there that would help.

Unfortunately our Hub is upstairs in one of the bedrooms at the back of the house (no idea how or why the BT line comes in up there!) and the 2.4Ghz isn't good enough to hit the front of the house - we have to use the 5Ghz network to be get a decent connection there.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice as to what I can do to get this back up and running?

@cronen is it a question of the 5GHz signal is no lnger strong enough to connect or the device refusing to connect.

if its the latter and multiple devices are gstting the same message has someone changed the wifi password? You can reset the password by loging onto the hub and changing it back. If you find the admin password no longer works you can reset it back by pressing and holding in the reset pin on the hub until the pwer led fllashes which takes roughly 20 seconds. However doing that will undo the splitting of tge bands.

In general terms only split the bands if you have devices that wont connect to the dualband SSID typically cheap IOT devices which will only link tomthe 2.4GHz band. Otherwise most devices work better with the ability to use either band. It is somewhat odd that you find the 5GHz band is better than the 2.4GHz band in rooms further from the hub as the higher the frequency to lower the range. Could it be your 2.4GHz signal is suffering from interference from a neighbour's netork on the same or adjacent channel?

Re: 5Ghz Not Working

Did you ever have any luck resolving this? I've been having a very similar issue since last night
