2nd hand Gigafast router
Hi, would it be possible for me to buy a 2nd hand Gigafast router and pod to replace the provided max hub? As others have said, their wifi range is not great and I can't really afford to upgrade to the Max wifi product and wondered if this would improve the range.
I've only had fibre for 3 weeks.
Thanks

The answer is within this support community https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/Replacing-Max-Hub-with-my-own-3rd-party-router/td-p/4863891
Personally I'd go for new.

Its not worth it, 3rd party options are usually better and cheaper. I would look into a mesh system

They want £40 for an "as new" gigafast router and 1 pod.

Unfortunately that equipment wouldn't match what the Sky database shows you as being allocated, which means hardware administration in the My Sky app wouldn't be possible.
Perhaps also note that you'd effectively be purchasing stolen goods, because it would only be on loan to the original user and ownership doesn't transfer even if they've paid a non-return fee.
