I have had sky q box running off getting internet connection from EE 4 g router for a year. Download speed was good no problems. Two weeks ago I got fibre internet installed and set up sky q to use that broadband instead. Speed tests show good connection and speeds of around 60mbs in the same room as sky q. I have changed the DNS settings to 8888 to see if that made any difference but it doesn't I have the old EE router still with 1gb left of data useage so have reconnected that to the sky q box and download speeds are good. I can see other people have had issues with slow downloads and yet fast internet router speeds. Really frustrating does anyone have any solutions?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhich ISP?
DNS changes don't tend to help download speeds.

Also i went onto the netflix channel via the apps on sky and did a network speed chrck on there and it showed 54.48 mbps . Which makes it more puzzling as the connection is good the speed is good but the download Is rubbish.

Wonder if it's a content caching situation - like someone else already downloaded that content on EE so some sort of CDN has placed a copy closer to you on that network, but not yet on Wessex.
