have to re-set sky every night. It says there isn't any internet signal but everything else works ?

Please help.  Every single night we have to re-set the sky box as it suddenly stops and says there isn't any internet signal.  But there is.  We have tried turning all other equipment off including shutting down mobile phones etc.  We have had sky out to look at it and they do exactly what we do to re-set the boxes and say it is ok, then later on it all goes down again.  I've tried swapping the qplus boxes about and I've asked BT as that is who the internet provider is as sky internet is too slow in this area.  Has anybody else had this problem or can anybody help with a solution.  Thankyou in advance

most reliable solution is to connect it to the router with ethernet cable.

 

If you can't do that......

 

If you haven't already you need to turn smart setting off and seperate the 2.4G and 5G wifi channels, and give them unique SSIDs

 

If you still arent getting a stable connection try changing the wifi channel for the 2.4G band on the router.

Thankyou.  But I have no idea what any of that is.  I will see if it is something that is obvious though otherwise I will turn to google and you tube and see if what you say is something I can find on there.??

Hi @Dinopops 

Suggest you ask Sky for a Q WiFi booster to connect to your BT Router by Ethernet.

You can then use WPS to connect the main Q box to the Q booster which should give a more stable connection.

That's likely your problem then as its well established that Sky doesn't play well with BT router's smart settings. You should be able to find a guide online or via BT's website.

Most incorrectly refer to it as Smart but it is called Smart Setup in your router

@Dinopops  Whilst you are checking that smart setup is disabled also check that your router hasn't been inadvertently set to shut down at a pre-set time.
