Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
Morning
I have Sky Super Broadband Ultrafast 1 with speeds of 145 down and 27 up.
•My Xbox One is wired via Ethernet
•Im using Galaxy S10+ (5ghz WiFi)
•Xbox app(remote play)/Gamepass
Upon playing these apps I always have the
"your network may be experiencing some problems"
symbol in the to left hand corner of the screen, which creates very laggy and choppy play. Which makes it unplayable.
What could be causing this and how can it be resolved?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
So are you trying to remote play on your Galaxy over WiFi?

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
Yeah.... It's virtually unplayable.
If I just use my 4g signal data... It works fine.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
What kind of ping, jitter & download speed do you see on your Sky WiFi compared to 4g?

Ping 9
Jitter 1
Packet loss 0%
114down 26up
That's over wi-fi
Ping 49
Jitter 6
8down
8up
Over 4g

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
If I try Stadia over wi-fi on my gs10+ I have no issue with streaming, but I don't want to use Stadia I want to use game pass

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
You'd need to try gamepass from an ethernet connected device to see whether the issue lays with the hub/routing or the WiFi to your phone

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
How do you know? Your latest reply said Stadia works fine on your S10+ so that suggests the WiFi is fine and its gamepass thats the issue.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
Hey @BAKER126 did you ever get a fix for this? I have the same problem at the moment and it's driving me batty.
It actually worked fine for the first few weeks then started getting all choppy. Microsoft say there is nothing wrong their end and I have a wired XBSX so it looks like the wifi being synchronized may cause it but my router refuses to split the SSID into 2.4 and 5ghz.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
I had similar problem a while ago. The issue is that gamepads remote play requires 5ghz connection but the sky hubs didn't offer this. I tried a number of fixes but gave up in the end. It's definitely a sky hub issue.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
All sky hubs apart from sr102 support 5ghz you just need to seperate the wifi bands to secure a 5ghz connection.
- Log onto router and go to wifi
- Go to 5ghz band and untick synchronise 2.4ghz and 5ghz
- Go to 5ghz ssid and add -5g at the end
- Save
- Go to individual devices and assign wifi band accordingly
Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 55 inch uhd tv, with Dolbyvision, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21
If I get it right mark as answered
If I get it wrong humour me
If I say something you like give a thumbs up

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
Hello both,
I tried splitting the ssid into the two inc 5ghz but no result there for me after reconnecting on the 5 one on my iPad. Same issues sadly.

Re: Xbox Remote Play/Gamepass
Hi, yes unfortunately that didn't work for me either at the time, and it also wasn't recommended as it messes up the mesh network or something for my sky q and mini boxes. I can't remember the exact issues but ended up factory setting my router back to its original set up and gave up in the end.
