Upgrading broadband - living in a flat.

Hello,

I currently have sky superfast (80mbps) broadband. I've checked on Sky and it says ultrafast is available to me.

However I live in apartment which is part of an old converted building.

So does anyone know what's involved in upgrading or is it not worth doing for me?

Thanks

It would require fibre to be pulled to the building by Openreach to the connection point within your building and then fibre being dropped into your flat. If its showing as available to you then Openreach may have already done the hard work and whats left would be for them to just visit your flat and bring the fibre in from the building's distribution point

So would that involve doing work outside of my flat and creating holes etc every where to bring in what's needed for ultrafast?

I was hoping it was just a change of router.

Yes it would require work outside the flat and then likely a hole drilled for the cable to be brought in. It certainly isn't just a change of router, much more involved process than that.

Ok thanks I think I'll drop the idea of upgrading then.
