Happy New Year  folks,

I've been having this issue for a good while too. Have a Polk Soundbar and Amazon Fire 4K connected as well as the Sky Q box to my Samsung UE43RU7100KXXU TV.

Changed cables / HDMI ports / Video settings too but no luck.

Have done all the resets / updates including the manual Samsung update (version 1374 - Dec 2020 via USB drive as mentioned by hullkr.

Still have the issue.

If I remove the Amazon Fire, it seems to be fine, didn't see the issue for 2 /3 weeks over christmas.

Gonna purchase that HDMI splitter now and will report back.

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

After many weeks of trying to sort the blue screen HDCP error every time i turned my tv on , i finally found a solution ! , Basically its an error with the SKY -Q Pink ended HDMI cable the SKY supply .

I tried numerous old cables with  no luck ,even borrowed an older Pink cable off a friend who had no issues on his LG TV  , but still issues on mine .I then bit the Bullet and went and Purchased a Sandstrom 8K Gold HMDI from Currys .(my tv is 4k UHD)

Plugged it in . Did the usual of turning tv off , sky box etc , standby , you name it. Perfect each time . No Blue screen or Flashing sky menu trying to Handshake with my TV to recognise the HD Copyright **bleep** . Perfect for the past week now , ive tried everything to make it crash , changed ports, plugged firestick , games consoles in etc. Still no problems .

The strange thing also i found is that i reset the output on SKY Q to 1080 , went to a UHD recording and a message on my Samsung TV came up in the Grey Menu panel saying that picture was automatically being changed to best settings . it flashed then played the UHD recording , low and behold the Sky menu was now set to 2160 .!!!

So my conclusion is ! , the HDMI Cable supplied with SKY - Q is not fit for purpose on some TV`S especially most Samsung 2019 and onwards 4K UHD .

Get it sorted sky as i dont see why i should spend £40 on a Cable to sort a fault

The Picture is absolutley amazing , looks like 8k , Rich colours and great contrast . It was that good i had to adjust my colour,  & contrast down from the Previous SKY-Q cable settings

Hope this helps

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

Fixed by physically unplugging Samsung TV from the mains.

Tried everything first:-

alternative HDMI cables,

SKY Q Box unplugged (following the "hold in button" from earlier suggested fixes)

SKY Q box s/w updated twice (why did it think it needed it??),

finally - factory reset TV.

Nothing Fixed the problem.

Everything else worked as normal:-

USB, Apple TV, iPhone vias HDMI and airplay - all worked fine - but no SKY Q.

Finally - wife said have you tried unplugging the TV from the wall?

So with the Sky Q box switched on and delivering the 'HDCP' message - I did!

FIXED !!

**** But for how long and what s/w update has Sky sent overnight to cause this? ****

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

Tried everything from changing new cables to different tv. So unplugged all devices then plugged in one by one.  Powering down Q / on off before plugging in each device. It came down to Google Chromecast and Amazon stick without them works fine. So you can't cast to your tv from other devices unless you have new modern tv.

Once I take the soundbox out everything works ok again. Is the Sky soundbox faulty ?

@Carlsberg1056

Have you tried using both the HDMI leads to connect to the TV when not using the Soundbox. It may be that one of those is your issue. Eliminate that possibility and its looking like the soundbox is your problem

This problem cropped up for me too, on my Sky Q box. It turned out to be none functioning HDMI port on the TV! Fortunately I have 2 spare ports on our TV, so plugged it into one of them, and hey presto, it worked.

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

@hullkr You are correct that no-one should pay £40 for a new HDMI cable. Especially when I have just purchased two for under £19 fir them both with the exact same spec...

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

I'm getting this message and blue screen, it's driving me crazy. It started within an hour of the installation engineer leaving and after many phone calls to sky and 5 different new Hdmi cables its still showing this screen intermittently, some days it lasts for hours. Can anyone actually help?? I've done the updates with sky and with Samsung and still no joy

Hi had the same problem changed my hdmi then it happened again

on the top of my remote there's the buttom that once connected to the tv goes through the sources, as in flicks between the hdmi channels ext channels

when you find what hdmi port your plugged into the message has gone and sky works again

Re: This screen does not support HDCP. Try reconnecting your HDMI cable, or use a different screen

Looks in my case to be an issue with the actual TV unit, tried a couple of HDMI cables and neither worked, and now tried on my PC monitor and it works so issue could be with the TV - further tests to be done
