Hi there, I was following this thread until about half way down when it went far too technical!
1) did you manage to sort out the Tp link router to get a stable connection or does it keep dropping out still?
2) is there anyway you could provide the setup steps you follow to setup the router (even in piggy back mode if it keeps dropping out!!) if you would be able to go from the start that would be amazing!
im really keep to swap over to tp link router but have tried to followed so many forums with little luck!
thank you and sorry for being a complete amateur!
I have FTTP into an open reach box - connected currently to the skyq box, as soon as I connect up the tp link and try to login using the sky logins (as the forums say).....nothing happens and I end up losing the will!
Thank you!
charlie

What tp link model do you have?
The dhcpv6 prefix delegation piggyback is shown below but doesn't always work. Probably better to see if it support sky mer/dhcp option 61 client identifier
Dhcpv6 pd
Select the WAN interface section of router GUI, then select dual-stack option WAN interface for IPv4 & IPv6, for the address select DHCPv6 (dynamic option not static), enable prefix delegation (PD) on WAN and then select SLACC for IPv6 creation method on LAN interface

Excuse the copied Amazon title! TP-Link Archer VR2100 Advanced Wi-Fi Modem Router Wi-Fi AC2100 Mbps,
when I tried to setup the network last time I wasn't able to see the ipv6 settings as I have done on other screenshots of the same model - I assume it's in an advanced setting somewhere? Tplinkwebsite says it's supported so I may need to try again to see where it is!
thanks

Ok, that a vdsl (superfast ) modem router. It loses it isp profiles when set to router mode meaning you lose the dhcp option 61 when you bridge the fttp ont to it leaving you with the dhcpv6 pd piggyback which may or may not work. Tp don't list the routers compatible with sky mer only the dsl modem routers. What are your requirements other than an underperforming wifi and what price bracket

Stable WiFi is the key! I've got a lot of things connected up: standard mobile devices, TVs, Philips, heating, Sonos, laptops, cameras etc - I just need to have a router able to manage them all - the skyq one doesn't seem to hack it!
as a guess I think there are around 25+ devices connecting at any time
thanks

Have you set the tp to router mode in the advanced settings?
Can you screen shot the wan screen and the lan screen and post. Also are you doing the setup via ethernet connection or the tether app
