Soundbox issue

Soundbox fails to go into standby mode when not in use and will not respond in the morning. I have to do a re-set and then I have to remove and refit the HDMI cable to get a picture on the TV. If I try to use the sounbox remote the box will freeze again and I will have to go through the hole procedure again.

Any help would be appreciated or I will have an expensive ornament.

Interstingly Sky have stopped selling this item with no plans for anything similar!

If it's still considered to be under warranty, I'd suggest trying to get it swapped out.  I don't think unreliability was the cause of Sky ceasing to sell the Soundbox, just lack of sales making manufacturing more not really worthwhile.  Without ARC and Atmos, it's rather limited technically for the potential market.

I've nothing better than @TimmyBGood suggestion, other than to check - when you say "reset" are you doing a reset rather than just a restart (as in the link) 

The reset is better at clearing glitches such as those you are experiencing 

Although Sky have no more Soundboxes to sell as new, they should still have some reconditioned ones for warranty exchanges
