SkyQ keeps reverting to wireless
My SkyQ is connected via ethernet. It's been fine like this since installation but recently (haven't checked but my guess is an update was pushed) it started moaning about there being no internet connection. When I checked settings it was somehow connected to wifi. Even over wifi it should still have an internet connection but I want it using ethernet as I have a SkyQ mini and they don't talk well via wifi. I disabled both 2.4 and 5GHz via the 001 settings option, reset the network connection and it reconnected via ethernet. Today, it's back on wifi. It even shows my SSID in the settings but when I go into the 001 settings, both 2.4 and 5GHZ are showing disabled, so how can it be connected to wifi? I reset network settings and forced it back to ethernet but I suspect this merry dance will continue. I haven't performed a factory reset - don't want to unless I have to.
Any ideas what's going on?

Hi @skwerl2
If the WiFi is shown as off in the hidden menu (001) then it should indeed be off. You can ignore the SSID shown as this is just indicative of the Q mesh ID.
Just be aware that a Network reset will turn all WiFi on and provided you have Ethernet connected and do not carry out any WPS it's necessary after a Network reset to go immediately into the hidden menu and turn off both bands of WiFi.

Re: SkyQ keeps reverting to wireless
appreciate the input but why then does the box randomly drop the wired and revert to WifI?
I've read another thread about the same problem. That one said that eventually, after repeated rounds of resetting to wired, the box "gives up and stops trying Wifi."
less than ideal though. I'd rather have a fix from Sky, especially as it's been working fine for a few months and randomly started doing this a couple of days back.
interesting, your poin abou the reset. When I reset earlier, to force back to wired. I checked the 001 menu and the wireless was still disabled. ie The reset didn't re-enable
