@lee9160I  think most of us would like to be on the trial but there is no known way of asking.

@lee9160 As far as anyone on the forum knows there are no public trial of Sky via broadband being carried out, usually any trials are carried out by Sky employees.

There have also been no recent announcements about Sky Q over broadband.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@lee9160  Not sure what Hyperoptic has to do with Sky via Broadband, they certainly wouldn't know any of Sky's plans.

@lee9160Hyperoptic do supply it over fibre but as far as the Q box is concerned it is from a communal dish and the Sky box plugs into the Hyperoptic boxes' aerial socket.

Usually Hyperonic only supply to blocks where they have a monopoly and are the only supplier of broadband etc.

@lee9160  But that is not Sky Q over broadband though, as per @bob1234  it looks to be the bog standard Sky using a satellite dish.

@lee9160

Typically any such offering from an altnet provider is FIRS (Fibre Integrated Reception System) where there's still a dish but it's some distance from the development being served: the fibre serves as the equivalent of a very lengthy copper cable distribution and is converted to a conventional coaxial input at the subscriber premises. This is not at all like the proposed online-only Q service which would be delivered to the box as TCP/IP data over either WiFi or ethernet cable.

Re: Sky without a dish

@lee9160

There is no Sky Q over fibre/broadband.

Any trials will be selected by Sky, not from volunteers.

When Sky over broadband is ready, Sky will announce it.

@lee9160  As per @TimmyBGood   That is an entirely different setup, it isn't Sky Q over Broadband, that particular service hasn't even been released by Sky in thre UK, therefore it is impossible for any other provider to have it.

I think you are not understanding what Hyperoptic are actually providing and making an incorrect assumption that is the as yet unreleased Sky Q over broadband.

Re: Sky without a dish

@lee9160

Read the Ts & Cs. Getting Sky via Hyperoptic still has a dish and a Sky box. You don't get live TV via the fibre. It's just referring to downloads. Basically, Hyperoptic is just a broadband provider - they are bundling Sky in with their offer, not providing Sky over broadband.
