Yep, I'm fine with that. But it doesn't yet cover Glass, and more specifically the imminent webcam, two-way comms, auto-sensing etc. I presume they will be updating/expanding this section before they sell any.

Maybe, but their highly-paid lawyers might just advise that the current wording covers those too.

Webcams are interesting in this context: a webcam data stream isn't necessarily covered by GDPR if it's never retained, but an image used for facial recognition is, unless that's just used to generate a hash, which isn't...

Good luck to them with that. I think a lot of folk won't touch the Glass webcam until Sky spell out precisely who can see or hear their comms.

Will be bad motion blur on this cheap 60Hz panel. Live sports, especially F1 will be awful

That's rubbish. My previous TV was only 60Hz and there was no motion blur issues with fast moving content.

@Q-tips  How is this different from those with Alexa or SIRI or any of the other voice activated capability ?  And does everybody with that sort kit actually read the small print ?

Re: Sky to launch Sky Q without dish by Xmas based on Xfinity X1 box

Does anyone know if the Sky Q IP box will have significant delays when watching live sport? I know BT sport on BT TV is slightly delayed as the service is also internet-based, but they use multicast so the delay is not more than 2-3 seconds or so.

Anyone know how Sky Q over broadband will work? I know Sky Glass will have at least a 40 second delay when watching live sport, I am hoping that wont be the case with the Sky Q IP box.

@Ibrahim215 I suspect you would have to move to Germany to find out. Sky's IPTV option in the UK is Sky Glass.

Wondering if anything is in the pipeline vis a vis Now. It wouldn't take much for Comcast to upgrade their Now offering to include the terrestrial or satellite linear broadcasts and all in UHD

Thats what put me off it.  Being forced to buy another 4k tv when i already have one and not knowing its capabilities. Guess i'll have to wait and see if Now bring out anything in response

Now are part of Sky TV, they're not a separate company. They're not producing Now hardware (streaming sticks or boxes) any more. it's purely just the app. There was talk earlier in the year of Now gaining UHD, HDR & Atmos streaming, but that may have been a smokescreen for the launch of Glass. Either way, it's definitely not worth buying into Glass at this stage, judging by the numbers of problems being reported.

I think if you don't already have Q, then going for Glass isn't necessarily a bad move - the hardware is decent, for the price paid, and the streaming services themselves are okay.. There's some issues around the playlist, but I'm sure they're being worked on.

However, if you're a Q subscriber, then I would think carefully before upgrading. Glass works in a different way and relies more on the streaming services than previously thought, so there may be issues with recording availability..

i think sky is missing a golden opotunity not bring out the sky Q IP box first .reports say there no firm plans when it will .
