Sky remote won’t always turn on tv from sleep

Just has Sky Q installed. Sky guy said to hold top left button on remote for 3 seconds to send tv to sleep and to wake.

This happens sometimes but when we get up in the morning it is intermittent, so this morning it wouldn't wake the TV. The light on Q box went from amber to green.

Had to use tv remote in the end but would rather only use Sky remote for everything as we were instructed.

any advice appreciated

It shouldn't be 3 seconds to shutdown and wake up, it is only 3 seconds to shut down, just one push should wake up the tv and Sky box.
