Sky+ download playback issues

Most posts seem to be users not being able to download programmes but l have no problem with that - my issue is poor playback quality. The playback is plagued by "hicupping" of the picture and sound.

Normal timer recordings playback just fine.

I'm on Virgin's 500gb service so poor signal strength surely can't be a problem.

Are there any Sky+ users still out there to offer any ideas?

Downloads should not suffer from sound and picture issues as these things are usually problems when broadcasted
