I've a Sky Q mini box which worked fine with Sky broadband. I'm trying to setup Sky devices on Virgin BB and it doesn't seem to work. I've Sky Q Wireless Booster (this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sky-Q-Wireless-Booster-2020/dp/B08K3SXD6N), I'm not sure what does it boost? Broadband Internet WiFi signal or Sky Q main box's signal?
My Virgin BB & main Sy Q box are in one room. Virgin BB WiFi signal doesn't go beyond this room so I'm screwd atm.

You cannot use that to boost the wireless signal from a Virgin router to any device other than a main Q box. It's only a general booster when Sky is the ISP: for your purposes it should boost the signal between the main Q box and a Mini box when set up using the WPS buttons on the Sky boxes, but it's specifically designed not to be more widely applicable, presumably to try and prevent an illicit aftermarket developing. They aren't supposed to be on sale from anywhere: Sky loans them to Q television subscribers (you didn't need to buy one) and under the terms of their WiFi Guarantee to Broadband Boost customers.

Thanks for reply. Yes you are right, it boosts main sky q box's signal. It took some effort to move booster around the room to get it working. It's pain tbh. It's just the first mini and it keeps dropping from time to time. I've to add few more minis. Not sure how it will go.

Ideally you want the booster halfway between the main Q box and a Mini. If you are adding more Mini boxes then the mesh between the Sky devices may strengthen, but it does depend on the layout of your property: this is why Q installers use specialist WiFi tools on their tablets.

Yes you are right, it's around midway now so working. The problem in my house is that all walls are brick walls. So can't get signals across walls. I can get signal upstairs though. Other mini boxes will be nearer to the booster so I hope they will work.
