so for some reason I was happily watching Grimm...when the next episode won't download and says failed. Now it's not just this show, it's every show on Sky max on demand?? Can anyone help?
Everything else is fine and will download on demand but anything labelled with sky max won't.

Same issue, Only seems to be the Sky channels ones, CH4 and BBC OK, purchased skystore is also OK. as is live recording.
Tried reboot, direct network cable, so that rules out network, netflix is fine, did the usual reboot, reset settings. Managed to get one more downloaded after lots of trying things, didn't seem any reason why it did. But then next one failed again and can't managed to get another downloaded.
Called sky who wanted me to do a full reset, said I wasn't willing to and this must be a bug, and other had reported the same they passed it up to the next level.
Can everyone do the same call the free number 0800 1512747, more that do, more likely they will take notice!

Exactly that! And I actually DID the full hard reset, losing everything, for it to work...for approximately 1 episode and then do the same thing again...so lost all my programmes I'd recorded for absolutely nothing! Annoying!

An update, I have just managed to download a few more, nothing has changed so it must be the Sky end. I paused the last episode I watched and then press i on the remote and selected the next expisode and downloaded. I then went to that episode and did the same and that worked, I have queued up the whole series and the first of the next, so will see if it works.
To me it sounds like a network bandwidth or one of the servers is the issue.

Hi, I don't know if this is reason but I was having the same problem until I realised that the downloads automatically try to download the HD format. We don't subscribe to HD so they kept failing. If you change the format to standard before hitting the record button it works. Hope this helps!

@leedsdad yep you are correct
The default download setting is HD so try changing the format to download in SD
you can change the default to SD by Pressing Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Setup.
Select Preferences, then 'On Demand default download format', and choose SD.
