Re: Sky HDR
I think for those of us who have the V1 box, if you are coming up to your contract negotiation then add that into the equation. BT are presently doing Fibre superfast BB, Full TV package with full sport and Netflix for £96. Speaking to cancellations might get you somewhere if you're desperate.

My Re: Sky HDR
My Q was installed in March, but seems the engineer kindly gave me the old HDR incompatible box. Been looking forward to trying out HDR as well!

Re: Sky HDR
@Kei+M So if my V1 box develops a fault you replace it with a V1 box.. and that makes sense to whom.

Re: Sky HDR
@scottief Yes out of contract and saying you will not renew unless your V1 box is replaced with a newer model is the way to go.

Re: Sky HDR
@JOHNGALLEY It makes perfect sense to Sky who still have lots of refurbs and the like they need to get rid of. Plus I suspect it dissuades those whose Q box has suddenly developed a mysterious fault post launch of HDR 😊

Re: Sky HDR
@JOHNGALLEY nothing new Sky have always switched faulty boxes out with refurbished units and as far as I am aware Sky do not actually keep track of what is v1 or v2 their system just says a 1 or 2TB box. The engineers will know which is which but its down to luck whats on the van.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: Sky HDR

Re: Sky HDR
@JOHNGALLEY @Well given you've had it four years then a natural hum from the PSU and latent heat has not stopped it working. Surely this is just a game of 'wait and see what happens'. Given the very limited content plus C19 pandemic Sky are not going to rush out and replace a million boxes. From a logistical point of view it simply isn't feasible.

Re: Sky HDR
@Piesarus try setting your c9 to cinema home in picture settings, set colour garmut to 'auto' and turn off trumotion. HDR looks terrific on my b8 with these setting and not to vivid.

Re: Sky HDR
I've have the SkyQ 2TB box the newer version and I have a Samsung 4k UHD HDR10+ engine, watching the lemurs on screen yesterday was out of this world experience the intense colour the sound the graphics and technology, is worth having HDR built in your TV.. Oh watch the nature programmes on the on demand service as it downloads in HDR format also my TV inhances films old and new watching the latest star wars movie in UHD HDR wow.. My TV is only just over a year old.. Any other tvs which are more than 2 years old arnt HDR compatible make sure you have the SkyQ 2TB which has the HDR chip already inside it..

Re: Sky HDR
@Piesarus it's a gamble, if i lose i shall have to wait for whenever the process comes my way.. but it is a issue that i am certain i have read on various forum's, that people have swapped there boxes for the very same reason's .
