@PBS83 Is that aimed at me specifically??I have had Sky Q since release, I am in contact with the Executive Team regularly as the advertised their help to me several years make when I asked about help regarding disabled remotes(I am severely disabled).

I have been waiting for HDR for many years and can't see a problem in me enquiring about release.I was directed to these forums for help by the team, but I shan't be using them again as I find your response both rude and patronising.

I'm sorry you feel that way @chuffster but not only was my perfectly acceptable comment not aimed at anybody in particular, it also didn't mention you as was not connected to you in any way.

General forum etiquette dictates that any direct comments or responses should quote, or at very least @ the user in question. You were neither. But apologies if you felt it was aimed at you.

Re: Sky HDR

Hi All,

I am not greatly concerned but out of interest I just tried my 2016 Silver box ES140 (v1) and no HDR for me. So what the hell I phoned SKY who checked my hardware 32B059 and Software Q112 and said ALL 2TB boxes including mine should work 😀. I told him it clearly doesn't so he dug deeper. So he is going to phone me back tomorrow afternoon as he hasn't been issued the full HDR support information which isn't being released until launch day tomorrow.

However he thought it might be because I'm on the original Q Experience and not the new HD+UHD pack. So to get prepared for his call, could somebody confirm that they are getting HDR with the old Q Experience (Multiscreen) and don't have the new HD+UHD pack?

Re: Sky HDR

@Anonymous yes I'm on the old Multiscreen pack and hlg hdr is working but I've got a v2 2tb.

Re: Sky HDR

No HDR for my V1 2TB.

Makes me think back to the annual letter I receive from Sky kindly informing me of all the additional services they're providing in order to justify the yearly price increases.

Nice to know I'm now subsidising the service of others. I'll give Sky a chance to resolve this satisfactorily tomorrow.

And before someone rolls out the whole Pandemic/endangering lives line, why did Sky choose to launch this now if they're unable to support it?

The problem seems to be lack of staff training and/or poor distribution and delivery of internal staff briefs.

In an ideal world, all frontline staff would have had a detailed list of model numbers that do and don't work with HDR before any content was made available.

Re: Sky HDR

@Anonymous Yep I can confirm I'm still on the old sky q experience pack but with a V2 2tb box and HDR is working fine so doesn't look like the legacy pack is the issue.

Re: Sky HDR

I know my v1 2tb doesn't support this, but can those with HDR HLG working on their later boxes confirm they are also on 112.000.21.00L (53wk8j8)?

Why do you think they're going for such a low key launch with only a very small amount of content?

If they'd been in a position to have mass box swaps, they'd have gone with lots of publicity and a large library of content.

This way, their support should be able to cope with the relatively small number of requests for swaps.

Re: Sky HDR

I have an older Q box with latest update but no HDR. I downloaded episode 1 of the lemur documentary to try it out, and I know my TV supports HLG so I guess, at  somepoint, it's a new box for me.

Anyone know what the situation is with that or has it not been announced?

Hi @chuffster

I just wanted to drop in here and say how sorry I am to read that your early experience of the forum has been poor

Having been on here for around 8 years I have found the forum generally fun to be involved with and very informative . Most people are supportive, giving up their time to help others

Now for whatever reason - and this comment is not aimed at any one individual- this thread seems to have attracted some quite aggressive and unconstructive comments - even if they are well informed

So just my view - but please don't take this as representative as life on the forum

I hope the next thread you are on will be better

Re: Sky HDR

@lettice

That Lemur programme is hilarious.

Time to consider HDR t.v. Upgrade during 2020.
