What is going to be even more frustrating and disappointing is when a current V2 user who has HDR  encounters box problems and the Sky engineer arrives and only has refurb V1 boxes on the van to use  for box swaps

I thought you get a like for like swap or does it not work like that.. not sure never had a V Box replaced.

Re: Sky HDR

My sky q box is not in hdr I found this out first thing this morning from internet post. I remember why though I did have the new box with the adaptor cable but had loads of issues tv is LG kept flickering and going black. Tried new hdmi cables but had to call an engineer out swapped the box with  old one was told problem was with LG. Went to old box no problems until trying to watch hdr. Does anyone no if this problem is fixed now, because if not I'll stick with no hdr until buy new tv. Picture is good and least it doesn't flicker.

So how do you get to quote a post .. is it down to the device etc .. because you read post on here and there is in most cases no way of knowing what a reply is replying to.

@JOHNGALLEY  Re: Quotes. See screenshot below, this is how it looks when I reply on my Chromebook. See the different icons? 7th from the left is the quotes icon, click on that & then reply. I don't know if this is how it appears on other devices.

@Anonymous  Thanks mate Quote = quotation marks .. makes sense.

Just to piggyback on this, for anyone else wondering, its under the 3 dot menu on Firefox (as I found out earlier after a few puzzling minutes) and seems broken on the Samsung browser altogether,  including in desktop mode

Re: Sky HDR

Update to my HLG issue and it appears my 2.2 compliant Pioneer SC-LX501 does not support HLG passthrough. Have raised a ticket with Pioneer support to see if they are planning a firmware update but not even sure it can be done or whst appetite they will have for an older AV receiver.

Grrrrrr may be in the market for a new amp in thd near future.

My Onkyo isn't allowing passthrough either, or so it would appear. I can't check it against anything else as Sky Q is the only component utilising HLG HDR.

I've also opened a ticket with Onkyo only because their website, as well as the retailer I purchased it from, state it can do HLG passthrough. It does with DV content without issue via my UHD spinner.

I'm just not too fussed about seeing a few lemurs in HDR really.

So, no partiular rush on my part for a fix.

Has anyone been able to access HLG HDR from Sky Q via a receiver, any receiver?

Re: Sky HDR

I was tweeting to sky about this and they reckon about 2 months which by that time Disney plus would have been sorted out as currently HD so I'm willing to wait. I was thinking of buying the Chromecast ultra as that supports HDR. See what happens

Doesn't your TV have the Disney+ app built-in or available for download?

If it doesn't then maybe a Roku 4k stick £30) or wait until the Firestick 4k goes on offer again?

I would heartily recommend the Roku. I purchased and set one up for my parents, as well as purchasing them some Now TV vouchers and it is brilliant for the money.

Re: Sky HDR

Panasonic are a wee bit behind on that one, would be great though as not using SkyQ, but I've also tweeted Panasonic and there is something in the pipeline but as usual it's called the waiting game. Luck I've got sky will give me a new box and Panasonic coming up with the goods.

Re: Sky HDR

The HLG is sublime, I have a top range Panasonic and the On Demand Nature Channel switched to THX Cinema UHD Setting instantly, brilliant blacks and glorious colour. UHD without HDR/HLG is pointless, the extra colour range makes all the difference.

I hope this service is soon available with more mainstream channels, not being able to go to football when it returns is a pain, football in UHD with HLG on the tele will make it a bit more bearable.

Great job with the HLG, thanks.

Re: Sky HDR

@NathanielSJ My only issue is I can't tell on Sky that it has switched.

The only way of telling is if I go to my Sony menu.

Can you tell me if there is anyway I can tell on Sky?

It doesn't switch on Sky. Your Sky box is passive - it sends the same UHD content to your TV, and if your TV can detect the HDR within that content, then it displays it in HDR on your TV.

The Sky Q box is like a tap. The tap provides the water, but the tap doesn't adjust in any way depending on whether the water is hot or cold. It's your hand that detects whether it's hot or cold and reacts accordingly.

Re: Sky HDR

Nothing on the Sky Q box tells me the HLG is present, I do get a banner generated by my TV showing picture details, plus the difference in picture quality is startling.

Maybe Sky could add UHD/HLG to the programme title
