@Ultramelon Not all trains have First Class seats the train I travel to work on has standard class only.

So if the train company wants to upgrade random people to First Class well done train company.

Re: Sky HDR

@Ultramelon  yeah it's defo your box then as I had a C7 which had HLG and obvs now my C9 does. I got sky q when it first released so a v1 box with every subsequent revision regardless I contacted sky and just said my box was playing up and they changed it for a new box which was obviously a later box than I had. I'm now on a v3 box since Feb roughly when they were released. Just give them a ring tomorrow don't even mention HDR just say you want an engineer out as your box keeps switching off when viewing it at random times. The engineer will come it might take abit longer due to Covid but when he does come he will run a test say everything is ok but just say you don't really trust the box he will then fit a new one. Job done and your happy. But rather than argue with them and come across as abit of a **bleep**(not saying you are lol) say what I've told you to. At the end of the day technology changes there's always something better even if people are paying the same. I mean I have the full sky package sports films box sets kids etc and and sky's superfast broadband and I pay 24 pound per month all in due to discounts through sky and my LG C9 promotion. The contract you took out didn't specify that you have hdr so obviously as an added feature which sky have added at a later date granted you want but they are not obliged contractually to offer it you as you didn't sign up to receiving hdr. But sky will upgrade the box when they can under an upgrade scheme whenever that is or potentially sooner if you do what I say either way you will get it if you want it at somepoint

@gems+151  Maybe Sky have already worked that out and will be prepared for the amount of Failing V1 2TB Sky Q boxes all of a sudden

Openly admitting the method you used to get your boxes replaced then encouraging others to do the same.

Will make it harder for those customers who have got a genuine issue with their V1 boxes

The lengths people will go to out of desperation for HDR on Sky Q.

Its has nothing to do with the Channels, they will launch later today but will not be showing HDR content.
The HDR HLG content will be via On Demand, like UHD (SD) is at the moment.

For the HDR HLG On demand content, search for these programmes using the Manual search or voice search.

Gangs Of Lemur IslandPridelands: Wilderness Reborn, and Malawi Wildlife Rescue

Make sure you choose the UHD version to download, from All formats.

Re: Sky HDR

@hudsonk

Download Gangs of Lemur from Catch Up. If you have an HDR TV and can set your Sky Q box to 2160p, and have the UHD pack, and when you watch this programme HDR kicks in, then you have a compatible box.

If your box has a silver trim and a power lead with no power brick attached, then it's a V1 2tb. If it has a power brick on the lead, then it's a V2 2tb.

Re: Sky HDR

@Rhonny

Sorry I disagree with your comments about contract. The contract is for a service, rather than for a box, the box is just a means of supplying the service. Let's imagine for example your local council said as well as empty the bins they would also wash them out and put them away for you but unfortunately you would be excluded because you didn't have the right bin. You wouldn't feel very happy as you pay the same as your neighbour next door. I think also the thing that grates a little is everyone on Gen1 boxes in a lot of cases have been with Sky longer than those with newer boxes. Some people may think its pathetic and I respect there opinion to think it, but if Sky are unwilling to upgrade my box for free I will vote with my feet.
