Re: Sky HDR

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

That's an odd addition. But the rest of the spec is definitely v1 - it mentions the HDMI in for example.

It's also wrong in that it says the box only outputs HDMI1.4, when it was updated to support HDMI2.0 when UHD broadcasts started.

When my Hard Drive Broke they gave me a V1 as V2 boxes had issues with Samsung TV's

"How do i ensure that i dont get a V2 for this reason when my email finally comes through "

This is my worry as well. After going through all the problems of the past couple of months

I don't want a V2 box. I do not have space for the power block and it is supposed to be the

latest box.

After long sessions with Sky CS yesterday I'm not convinced that I will get a golden email

even after re-applying following their instructions. Why can't we talk to the team dealing

with the box replacements?

Re: Sky HDR

@Gateford+Owls I currently have a V2 that I got yesterday and it seems fine on my Samsung JS9000. Engineer coming next month to swap it for a V3 box I should have received in the first place as customer service have told me many times that it'll be the latest box.

I don't think the people in the warehouse are checking the version of the box they are shipping or they have been told to get rid of the old V2 stock, I'm not even sure it's a new V2 box as the feet of the box was dirty, like it had been sitting in someone's house. Either way not happy but hopefully will be next month

Re: Sky HDR

@CybrHwk Are you getting sound dropouts on the v2 box? A lot of us who received the v3 are (there's another long thread on here about it). You might want to keep the v2 if it's got no sound issues.

Re: Sky HDR

@Pistonhead I have had a black screen with no sound for a second or so, same issue I had with the V1. Random intervals as I didn't get the issue yesterday but I've had it twice this evening already

Re: Sky HDR

@Gateford+Owls My V1 box broke a couple of years back and was replaced with a V2. Subsequent to that, I upgraded my TV to a Samsung for HDR and incidentally have just upgraded that to a Samsung QLED. I have had no problems at all in compatibility.

Re: Sky HDR

I have a version 2 box. It is appreciatively faster than the version 1, the PQ is better in UHD, HDR works as does atmos, no sound drop outs, no Wi-fi issues. If you get a version 2 in the HDR upgrade it will work just as well as a version 3.

@s-g  Same here.

I'm not sure that they even know I've applied

and no way of finding out.

Re: Sky HDR

My email finally arrived last night.

Took about 15 seconds to order. Very easy.
