Shall I stay or do I go?
Now had 55" SKYGLASS for one week (of 30day trial) with BT WiFi delivering wireless steady 70mbps. Pros; potentially no dishes, boxes or cables.
Cons;....OMG are endless, as already extensively aired in the SKY community. The SKYGLASS team whilst trying to be helpful really have no grasp of the problems, and apart from basics are of no use.
My question is, do fellow sufferers, believe SKY will get all the problems sorted, or is it going to be aborted in a few years as a good idea but too many issues to overcome?

Re: Shall I stay or do I go?
Q was a rough start too. Became the best thing ever.
Glass is new and a complete departure from everything Sky has ever done in the past. It is a good start, even with all the cons.
There's only one way forward, better. At the moment it is not a premium service but we're paying a premium price. Just unfortunate the Glass TV turns into a dumb screen without Sky TV.

Re: Shall I stay or do I go?
They'll need at least a year to get Glass in a stable enough state for it to be useable by the majority of customers. By then they'll have realised that the hardware isn't up to it and will either relaunch with a better spec'd TV or kill it completely and bring out an improved puck-only device.
Right now, you're still a beta tester, paying a lot of money for a service that's still very much in its infancy, riddled with bugs and quirks that Sky seem to be in no hurry to fix.
Sky don't do anything quickly so you need a lot of time and a lot of patience if you want to remain a Sky customer.
(Send it back.)

Re: Shall I stay or do I go?
@DeltaEcho Personally I think that this has to be the way forward. A lot of the issues are software based which can be sorted eventually. But because Sky Glass relies on a lot of the other other third party apps it may take some time to sort those issues which are related to the apps.
Whilst it's frustrating I am convinced Skybwill get there eventually. What annoys me most tho is that we early users are effectively Beta testing and Sky should recognise this.

I do believe they will fix the issues. They are wayy to invested at this point to even attempt to pull the plug.
I truly believe that they will fix the TV over the next couple of months hence holding onto mine.

Re: Shall I stay or do I go?
I agree, but think it will take much longer than 2 months!! A lot of the issues are with third party apps which they have no control over.

Re: Shall I stay or do I go?
That is the nub of the problem, the apps don't allow us to use it like we want, and like we are used to with Q. If I record something in Q, I can pick up and watch it from what ever point in time, immediately the recording has started. We sent it back for two reasons
1. The picture quality was no where near as good as I wanted from a new TV, we bought an OLED LG with far far far better picture for the same price in the end.
2. The quirks with when, what and how to playback recordings were too many to put up with.
There were of course tons of other issues, all little indvidually, but collectively made it a crappy eperience from the slick Sky Q experience we had gotten used too.
