Bit of a strange situation, but bear with me... I can't work out how to get this working.
So I don't have Sky multi-room but I do have a HDMI extender and a big (hidden) cable going up into to my bedroom - I can therefore watch Sky downstairs or in the bedroom easily (obviously only one channel at once but that's fine). Works brilliantly.
However, I'm struggling to sort out the remotes, of which I have two. By default, they both work with IR and my HDMI sender picks this up and sends it downstairs. However, I can only set it to work with the TV by pairing it to the box, which then enables Bluetooth mode and seems to turn off IR. So I then pair the second remote downstairs to connect to that TV and that too enables Bluetooth and turns off IR, meaning that the first remote no longer works via Bluetooth. I can only get it go back to IR by factory resetting it, which gets rid of the settings for the TV!!!! I understand that only one Bluetooth remote can be used at once, but I can't work out how to set the remote back to IR without factory resetting it.
Essentially, I need to be able to set up the two remotes to work with two TVs, but then set one of them to use Bluetooth and the other to use IR. I've pulled my hair out for hours trying to sort it and can't find a way. I'm hoping some kind soul will know how?
Thanks in advance! 🙂

Sorry @GCraddock my brain is not fully working tonight so I haven't worked out the full sequence but I believe once you have paired the remote you need to be IR with your TV you can then press & hold 4 & 6 to reset it from bluetooth to IR

Re: Second Sky Q remote using IR?
Thanks very much, that's it!! Paired the upstairs remote and set it to the right TV, then pressed 4+6 to set it to IR mode, then paired the downstairs remote. Job done.
You are a legend Sir (or Madam) 😁

Re: Second Sky Q remote using IR?
An amazing answer. Got me right out of jail. Who knew 4 and 6 together does that?

Re: Second Sky Q remote using IR?
I'm looking at doing the same if I replace my sky box with SkyQ (except I have an additional 4 TVs that use the picture from one sky box). Can I ask why you need to use Bluetooth for the main one? Is it to use features if the remote? Are you using sky Q remotes in both rooms?

You don't need to use bluetooth for normal use but the voice commands need it
BTW I presume you are aware that SKY Q does not have any RF output so you cannot distribute the SKY Q signal like you can with SKY +

Re: Second Sky Q remote using IR?
Thanks. I currently use a modulator for the RF signal as the volume from the sky box RF is so low I have a couple of screens using HDMI, one with component (using the amplified sound) and two using RF. I also have a virgin box running on the same way (my better half prefers the Sky Interface) which only has hdmi out which I have a modulator for. I reckon I would be able use my existing set up and use the spare ir emitter on my system to control the SKY Q box instead of the RF control. I've used it in the past when a loose connection in one of my rf combiners meant I couldn't get the control signal to the tv port.
