Is it possible to change the remote for my main Sky Q box from bluetooth to IF. (I also have 2 mini boxes upstairs but i don't know if they work by bluetooth or IF).
I have been trying to source a big button remote control with only channel up/down and sound up/down buttons for my Mum who has dementia but they all seem to only work on IF and I cant find anything that seems to pair with bluetooth remotes.
any help would be appreciated.

I am not 100% certain I fully understand your needs.
THe Bluetooth SKY Q remotes can be set to use Infrared (IR) rather the bluetooth but if this is for your mum I am guessing the ordinary SKY Q bluetooth remotes aren't what you want.
The remotes pair with SKY Q boxes & not each other & can usually be set to work with most TVs
SKY do produce an 'accessibiity' remote (which is Infrared) see this link :

edit : Re-reading your initial post - is the large button remote that you have found IR and does it have an ability to learn from another IR remote - is that what you are after ?
Do come back if you want to ask anything further

Hi, Thanks for your reply - yes that is correct - the large button remote is IR and it needs to learn from another IR remote and as the sky q remote is bluetooth i am unable to programme it.
thanks

Hi @MarieB123 The device listed in the link Here is IR and should be ok?
It doesn't need to be paired with another IR remote to work.

hi @MarieB123 if you press & hold 4 & 6 together on the SKY Q remote that should revert it to Infrared mode so hopefully the other remote can learn from it when it is in that mode
BTW You can tell it is in infrared mode if the voice button doesn't work
Once you have managed to get the other remote to learn the codes if you press & hold 7 & 9 that will completely reset the remote (it should actually be in IR mode at this stage until 'paired') then press & hold 1 & 3 to pair it in bluetooth mode with your SKY Q box again

thanks for that. I haven't sent the first one i bought back yet so i will try to change the sky remote to infrared and fingers crossed it will work and i won't have to order another one.
thanks again
