Replacing Sky Router with Asus RT-AX86U with Open Reach ONT FTTP

Hi All, i was wondering whether anyone might be able to help.

I'm trying to replace my SkyRouter with an Asus RT-AX86U, i've read through the other few threads here but haven't gotten any further.

I have connected the Asus RT-AX86U to the Openreach ONT installed in my house. I've gone through the setup wizard and used the username and password i obtained from my isp by using wireshark. once the setup is complete it tells me its the wrong username and password.

In the advance settings i have tried replacing these credentials with various usernames such as xxxxxxxxxx@skydsl and xxx@skydsl but neither of these worked either.

I also read some users had success when changing the vlan to 10 on the internet field. which i have tried in combo with the above usernames.

Just wondering whether you great people can suggest anything before i have to fork out getting someone in to solve it?

Vlan id is 10 in ireland and unmarked (disabled) in the uk

For "client identifier (option 61)" asus prefers the anything@skydsl|anything format

Additionally in the uk you may have to flash the asus with asus-merlin firmware in order to display client identifier field

Well, I must have flashed the bios with every version of Merlin there is for the AX86u. Still couldn't see the Option61 field displaying in the Wan page or any other. 

Almost gave up then remembered something you said in one of the other queries raised about this router. I'd left it on PPPoE instead of Automatic IP. Changed this back and hey presto the field displayed, entered a string based on what you said above and it worked straight away.

Gone from 50mbps in my office (furthest room) to 150mbps and now getting 150mbps on all devices across the house.
