Hi,
Im moving into a flat this week and I have a remote installation of Fibre broadband scheduled for next week. Sky have said they have a compatible master socket on record as being installed in this flat.
As far as I can tell there is no traditional NTE5 socket and instead a normal telephone socket. Sky said they'll send an ADSL spliter along with the new router.
Just wanted to check if that was normal? I recall OpenReach installing the new master sockets by default but if Sky's records say that it should work then I guess I'll trust them?
thanks,

Its not unusual that openreach have an inaccurate record of the type of mastersocket which sky rely on. Its good sky are sending out the splittes as sometimes they don't. However even most convenient stores sell them for a couple of £'s if you're stuck

There's two, one upstairs and one downstairs. they are both single RJ11 sockets.

thanks for replying, it was more just for peace of mind. I assumed the NTE5 socket was installed by default to reduce crosstalk etc.
I've been with virgin last few years so just wanted to find out if it was normal basically. I had an issue years ago with BT fibre, they basically said there was FTTC available, sent an engineer who replaced the socket and said the new speeds should start coming through in an hour. long story short by telephone line was direct to exchange with no cabinet inbetween so impossible to get FTTC and they engineer basically lied.

@cookiemonsteruk Just the 2 RJ11 sockets. I haven't yet got anything setup. move in date is this Thursday. Package is Sky Q with up to 80MB fibre and default phone line option

@Highlinder they do not. they both kind of look like extension sockets for telephones. Maybe the master socket is somwhere else and I've missed it

They aren't included in the box any more (which contact centre staff may not know), and I wouldn't necessarily trust any such promise as there may not actually be a fulfilment path. Probably best to source your own in advance.
